This is a series of pairs. I was feeling cloudy (too cloudy) on my approach of the canvas or paper in this case after a long while without working. So I started shooting photos of clouds in the early spring of 2005. I started thinking about the words (too cloudy) and decided to make them in pairs of two. Thus Two-Cloud-Series was born.
I like the idea of duplicate templates and wouldn’t be surprised to see this appear in future series. The idea of a particular format or framework for things to be dropped into. Maybe a whole series. You can see this in the Family Portrait Series where I have done a painting for each one of us in a similar skeletal plan.
